There
are two pubs in Goodworth Clatford. Both of which are within easy walking
distance.
The
Clatford Arms - the nearer of the two, is a small country pub with good
beer and even better guest beers.
The Royal Oak, only a
short stroll away which you will pass on the way to the river, sells a
wider choice of real ales and provides good lunches and evening meals at
reasonable prices.
The
village is blessed with the river Anton, one of Hampshire's gin-clear
chalk streams. Only a short walk from the cottage, we hope it will give
you as much pleasure as it has given us during the last 30 years.
The famous river Test is also just minutes away. For fishing on the exclusive
beats at Wherwell Priory contact fishingonthetest.com |
Throughout
the seasons, the surrounding countryside has stunningly beautiful wooded
and open walks, all of which are clearly signposted.
Other
attractions include Stonehenge, Iron Age hill forts, and the hugely
entertaining Hawk Conservancy not to mention the historic cities of Winchester and Salisbury
all of which are within easy reach by car.
